-- author's note --
Rocking song that closes a fantastic album, and quite simple to play. Hope you enjoy.
Solo is full of wah and distortion like lots of others, and you can also just throw some improvisation / licks / cliches on Em pentatonic.
-------------------
Standard tuning
Main riff:
|------0--------------------------------------|
|------0---------------------------3bp0-0-----|
|----------2p0-2p0-2p0--4--4-4--2---------0---| (repeat)
|-----------------------4--4-4--2-------------|
|--2--------------------2--2-2--0-------------|
|--0------------------------------------------|
Chorus = riff
when it stops it goes to G on "what makes you tick, tock, tick, tock, tick". The 2nd strum also sounds like a regular major G to me, even though it may seem different.
(then go back to riff, chorus and another similar stop)
Verse ("You've got no chance of getting bored"):
Dm Dm/C Dm/B D9/Bb
|--------1-----------1-----------1-----------0------|
|-----3-----3-----3-----3-----3-----3-----3-----3---|
|---------------------------------------------------| (repeat)
|--0------------------------------------------------|
|--------------3-----------2-----------1------------|
|---------------------------------------------------|
(go back to riff / chorus, G stop and verse)
Solo:
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------ps: use tremolo picking
|---------------------------------------------------12--12---15brp12---------------
|--------------------------------------------11b~---14b-14b----------14brp12-14b~--
|--//9\\--//9\\--//9\\--//9\\--//9\\--//9\\----------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
use power chords for rhythm (no 3rd): | E - D - C# - C B |
--15brp12------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------15b--------12-15-----12-15-----12-15-----12-15-----12-15-----12-15-----12-15-12----
-----------------14b-------14b-------14b-------14b-------14b-------14b-------14b-------14b---
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------15brp12-------------------|
-----------------------------------------------15b~----------15brp12-----------|
--14brp12--14brp12--14brp12--14brp12--14brp12----------------------------12~---|
--------------------------------------------------------------------(14)-------|
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
"I'll find out": use same bass notes as verse: D - C - B - Bb
Last time guitar plays a different progression (ascending): D - F - G - Bb
(back to main riff on repeated "take my time")
"From now I'm never getting bored":
E - B A
(repeat)
End on G
(just for curiosity, the remaining "tick-tock" in the end corresponds to notes G-E repeated)
