-- author's note -- This is one of the most joyful songs in the world! I wanted to quickly check the chords from another tab that's published out there, but ended up first realizing that the recording is clearly off tune! And then after I retuned my guitar I could properly work on the chords and they were not as simple as initially expected and the bridge was almost all wrong. I also added a couple of guitar fills and orchestrations done at the end of the song, which definitely add to its magic!
--------------------
*** Important: on the original recording all instruments are tuned *UP* 1/4 step. Yes, 1/4!!
Intro: G C D C G Em C D
Guitar fill on G string: G|--0-2-4-2---0---2---0---| (repeat)
G C D G Em C D Didn't I tell you everything is possible in this déjà vu? G C D G Em C D Try the river boat, the carousel, feed the pigeons, Bar-B-Q Em C G D Look at all the people, happy faces all around Em C G D Smiling, throwing kisses, busy making lazy sounds
Chorus: A D E D It's a bright June afternoon, it never gets dark A F#m D E Wah-wah! Here comes the sun A D E D Get your green green tambourine, let's play in the park A F#m D E Wah-wah! Here comes the sun
G C D G Em C D (with intro guitar fill) Some folks are on blankets, slowly daydreaming and reaching for their food G C D G Em C D (with intro guitar fill) Let's go buy an ice-cream and a magazine with an attitude Em C G D and put on a cassette, we can pretend that you're a star Em C G D cos life's so very simple just like la-la-la
Chorus
C G D comes the sun
Bridge: Em Bm There's a painter painting his masterpiece Em B There are some squirrels jumping in the trees C G There's a wide-eyed boy with a red balloon Bm D All my life I've longed for this afternoon
(repeat intro before back to Chorus)
after Chorus 2x: A F#m D E It never gets dark... A F#m D Let's play in the park
(there's some orchestration on the back here, doing a phrase in A major such as:)
B|---------2-3-5~--| G|--2~---4---------|
-> Then there's a small stop with this orchestrated phrase: G|--4-2-1-2~--2~----4-2-1-2~--|
it comes back to the chorus pattern, adding the same intro phrase one step up (on A): G|--2-4-6-4---2---4---2---| (repeat)
then there's a similar phrase orchestrated, which goes: G|--2-4-6-4---2---4---2-----2-4-6-4---2---9~--| (repeat)
and finally the other orchestrated little phrase: e|--9-10-12--9-10-12~--|

-- author's note -- This is a cool rocking tune from the Swedish duo, which I remember I was instantly hooked to when I heard it for the first time many years ago. Today I was listening to it and I realized the very catchy guitar riff had never been published on the net. I ended up working on the whole song, which already had most chords figured out on the tabs you'll find at the usual sites, but some important bits were missing, so here's the whole deal! :)
-------------------
Riff:
A C D |------------------------------------------| |------------------------------------------| |----2-0h2p0---0---2~------2-0h2p0---------| |------------2---2-----------------2----0--| |--0--------------------0------------3~----| |------------------------------------------|
Add harmony one octave up, that is:
A C D |-------------------------------------------| |---10-8h10p8--8---10-----10-8h10p8---------| |------------9---9------------------9-5~-7--| |--7--------------------7-------------------| |-------------------------------------------| |-------------------------------------------|
Verse: Em D Em D C A (play riff) C D Put 'em on, put them big boots on, baby put them big boots on Em D Em D C A (play riff) C D Make your mark, make a good kick start, kick yourself right out of my heart
Pre-Verse was already correct, which goes: Em - C - A 1st, 3rd and 4th times Em - C - D 2nd time
Chorus: there's only one passage chord missing, the G pointed below:
D - G - Em - A D - G - Em *G* - A
Post-chorus: go to C and then play the little riff:
(then back to riff / verse / pre-chorus / chorus / post-chorus)
Solo - a slide is much probably used, and here goes something that should be pretty close (not necessarily using the slide):
A C D A C D |--------------------------------------------- |--------------------------------------/8~---- |--/5--5-----------------5-/9\5~-------------- |--------7--7~------/5-7---------7p5---------- |------------------------------------7-------- |---------------------------------------------
A C D A C D ------5~------5-5------5-5---------------0----0----0----0------/5~--| --8p5-----8p5------8p5------5\1-1~----/5---/5---/5---/5---3p1-------| --------------------------------------------------------------2-----| --------------------------------------------------------------------| --------------------------------------------------------------------| --------------------------------------------------------------------|
then just repeat a few Es (B string 5th fret) after it goes back to the pre-chorus chords;
(pre-chorus / chorus 2x / riff)
After finishing the song with the riff, there are a few strums from Dsus4 to D.

-- author's note -- Rocking song that closes a fantastic album, and quite simple to play. Hope you enjoy.
Solo is full of wah and distortion like lots of others, and you can also just throw some improvisation / licks / cliches on Em pentatonic.
Chorus = riff when it stops it goes to G on "what makes you tick, tock, tick, tock, tick". The 2nd strum also sounds like a regular major G to me, even though it may seem different.
(then go back to riff, chorus and another similar stop)

-- author's note -- Classic ballad, a fan favorite. Overall it's simple, even though once again there may be a couple of bits off or missing.
For the original solo, it's been really a bitch to hear the right notes 'cos it's a very weird solo, I think. And I'm not sure of the result specially on the first part, but it is close.

-- author's note -- I'll just put it this way: if one day I want to get kicked out of the building, I'll play this one really loud!
Seriously though, it's a rocking fastly paced song that's mostly simple, I'm only not so sure about a few parts where I comment. Any input is appreciated!
"What I don't want is you telling me": basically on E. On the first part, play just an open E 6th string with distorted wah letting ring, and add some pick
scratches along. On 2nd part when band kicks in, strum Em in 7th fret while playing open 6th E string too.
Verse 3 / Chorus
Then play main riff, adding on the lead the same chorus lick in the same position, and then the same lick one octave up, which is:

-- author's note -- Now this one's really tricky. Not sure if it's slightly out of tune, which makes it harder to tell some notes, along with the fact there's lots of distortion and wah. So it's likely that some parts are wrong, main intro riff included. On the other hand, there's considerable confidence about the "personality" / "no morality" patterns, which are really cool.
Solo's not note by note, and the chromatic passages got me somewhat puzzled too. I believe both are the same really, not so sure about those notes though, even if they sound ok when I play.
Please let me know if there's any fixes I should know! -------------------
Solo: Rhythm is like "originality" part but on A instead of B, then it goes to B after 1st passage, and to D after 2nd passage.

Then there's 2 different choruses ("stop right there, stab in the back") like the personality part but they go:

-- note -- I'm reposting this tab since, compared to the power tab available out there, my version has a couple of significant
differences, on which I believe mine are correct.
The whole song also sounds to me just a little off in key, which gives us some trouble figuring out some parts, but I believe the end result should work fine.

There was a time when I used to buy guitar tab books for albums, or a couple compilations, in order to learn how to play songs I like. Or I asked my teacher to help and figure out a certain song I couldn't find the book for. Then came the internet, and sites where you could easily find tabs for all of that... or not! Then it got bigger and people started to post tabs in more places, usually forums of the bands I like, which also helped.
Fast forward some years, and personally I got more involved in my own bands playing covers, and I also made it a habit to eventually figure out songs myself randomly while listening to them, for whatever purpose. And also importantly, I made it a habit to post tabs on those forums or submit it to tab sites around. Actually, also when I had a personal website there were some tabs there, but the thing had to move from one host to another and in the end the whole site got deleted (which is ok).
So, last week what occured was that I hadn't for a long while picked up a whole record to figure out, either by myself or using a book. One record that eventually came to mind, and that I never could find a songbook for, was Terrorvision's 'How to make friends and influence people', which is an absolute classic for those who were into post grunge punk in the nineties. I'm biased to talk about it, it's just a great rock record, the one who made these lads from Bradford, UK famous. Or not so much, since they couldn't really crack much any market outside of Europe. Either way, if you want to know more about the record, I highly recommend a listen, and you can know more about it on wikipedia or view a classic clip: Ok, end of digression.
So (again), when I went to search for tabs of songs from that album, there weren't many in the first place. I knew I had to get my hands dirty and work on the whole album, so I did! The result was really satisfactory mostly because I think the songs are quite simple. There are still parts or solos that are not 100%, so that's another idea of posting what you have. Eventually and hopefully someone will fill the blanks for you and inform you. Also that's what I already did to lots of songs (which I'll eventually post too).
Finally, when I went to a site to post it, it said "ok, we got the submission, now give us two business days to review it". Just take a guess whether that happened. I also realized I had long before submitted other tabs and they never appeared. After contacting a couple of other sites and getting no responses at all, it just hit me: "screw that, I don't need that".
And voilá, here you are! Hope it's enjoyed by guitarists 'round the world who eventually share similar tastes and go out looking for tabs and end up here. I'll post what I have anyway and be happy about it :)

-- author's note -- This is a pretty simple and straightforward song with a couple of tricks here and there. I believe most of the tab is spot on. The verse may not be all those actual notes, but it's just an idea to follow those same chords playing one note at a time instead of strumming... and then change the dynamics for the pre-verse.

Pre-Chorus ("his collars turned up high") = verse chords but palm muted playing, and stay strumming on C before chorus.
